Company description:

Block Party is a seed stage tech startup building consumer tools for online privacy and safety. Although our flagship product for Twitter is on hiatus (thanks, Elon), our mission is more urgent than ever, and we are working on what is next. Early testers describe our next product as TK.

The company is led by founder and CEO Tracy Chou (early engineer at Pinterest, Quora, and Facebook; Project Include co-founder; Forbes 30 under 30; MIT Tech Review cover) and backed by a diverse set of some of the best investors in Silicon Valley. More about us on the company website.

Remote role on a distributed team (core working hours are midday Eastern Time)

What you’ll do:

As the TikTok and Instagram creator for Block Party, you'll bring social media privacy and safety to life for people, helping them understand just how high the stakes are in the age of generative AI, and giving them the info and tools they need to reclaim their online experience. You'll keep close tabs on the algorithm and adjust content strategy fluidly to fit what's working today (and tomorrow, and tomorrow...). You'll showcase the real risks and real stories of everyday people facing online attacks, find the privacy angle in everything from news to key life moments like searching for a job, and use humor and emotional storytelling to create urgency and enthusiasm in our audience. You'll also sometimes have to figure out how to make social media settings tutorials interesting. This role is part-time to start, targeting 20 hours a week, with opportunities to expand to full-time.
